Act of squeezing balls

I have not been blogging frequently and it seems a lot of my “kaki” is also not blogging much either. Maybe the fad is slowly diminishing. As for me it could be that my brain is not functioning as well as I wants to. It could be my nasal passage is still blocked hence not much oxygen went up to my brain hence not much words can be spilled out. The ENT specialist has advised me to go for a minor surgery. I am still flipping the coin; most likely I will seek a 2nd opinion from another ENT.

A female ex-colleague of mine whom I have known for 17 years call me up the other day, she was surprised that I am sitting in my house at 7 pm. I told her I reached my house more than half an hour ago as I will normally leave my office sharp at 5:30 pm. She was a bit surprised as she is still on her way back driving on the road. I guess she still think that I will still follow my old habits of slogging it out in the office way past the usual time.

Sometimes is difficult to let go or change certain characteristic of ourselves. I used to be quite critical on doing every job to a certain degree of quality. I am not Mr Perfect but I would try to ensure all things coming out from me are in certain quality. Even there are times like during some rare moments when I am doing household chores like washing dish; I would ensure that it will be sparkling clean. Even when I am doing a DIY on a cabinet I will screw and screw until it’s real tight. Maybe is some kind of mental sickness symptoms, hahaha.

I no longer have the physical endurance like I used, I am changing the way I work. Some say work smart but in my area of work I do not think there is such thing as work smart. We are governed by tight datelines, just like a jinjang fellow wearing a tight pair of jeans, squeezing and splitting his beloved tentacles to their sides, one on the left and the other on the right. The pair of jeans is the management. The salesgirls that sold it, is the marketing department, promising the skies to seal the deals. The tentacles are like us, splitting ourselves into 2. One is the family, the other is our career. The jinjang fellow is us laughing on the outside by uncomfortable in the inside...

Dusk

I am not sure how many of you guys out there who is like me, a Cantonese listening to a Cantonese song but still find it difficult to understand the essence of the song. But I always believe Music and Songs is universal, a good song could really move you emotionally in regardless of what language is it. A language is used to represent the feeling. If someone pinch you does it matter if you say “pain” in Chinese, Thai, English, German, Spanish or whatever language. The “pain” is still pain…right? No?

Dusk is great, a song sang by Eason Chan, I got this translation from a colleague. I could not understand the meaning of the song when I first heard it. However it still manages to stir up some emotion inside me. When it reaches the chorus, the chord, the melody echo into my eardrum; it goes down through my throat and reaches my artery where my heart is beating. Beat by beat it brings me to another world, I was sitting on the edge of the mountain looking over a valley. The low lights emitted from the horizon, were like an old movie projector playing the past, images floating around, image of happiness, sadness and regrets….

Blur

I am like a walking Zombie. Why? I went for a follow up with the ENT and I was given some pills called Cirrus. The pills cause drowsiness. I could tolerate drowsiness but the worst thing is that it follows up with sleeplessness or insomnia. I was like a tuna turning and flipping in my bed caught by insomnia.

I finished the course but my brain felt like it is surrounded by load of invisible armies holding it back from giving some brain farts. It looks like all the wirings are messed up. Nothing much comes out of it. I even felt that my memory has deteriorated. I almost throw away my parking receipt which is supposed to accompany my monthly time sheets for reimbursement purpose. I remember putting it in a plastic bag which contains my newly bought audio CD. Somehow it creeps its way into the dustbin instead.

Talking about insomnia, I have a female colleague who is about to due in 3 weeks time. As I was talking to her, I saw her stomach, it’s quite big. It’s almost a foot and a half away from her body frame. How does a pregnant woman sleep? I normally slept leaning to the side. If my stomach is that big, I am not sure how someone could sleep soundly. Imagine facing this for 9 months. I salute all mothers in the world…….

Tag 4... A MEME

Selba tagged me.

Umm while I was doing this I realise that I have actually done something like this before although there is some slight difference. So I copy some of the answers from my previous post.

Four jobs I would stink at:
1. Politician – I could not go out and promise things that I know I could not fulfil. This is especially so when you are in Malaysia as almost everything is beyond your control and I dislike public speaking. Politician means constant public speaking. I do not think that I could not be on a stage and start talking trash, I also could not curse, whine, throw “jabs” at people, race and etc. I guess maybe I read too much news on our parliament sitting when curses were norm and courtesy is exception.
2. Salesperson – I am a type of person that if there are 4 bowls I will say 4 bowls. I do not lie “much”.
3. Owner of a business – I am not good at business or will I make any money out of it.
4.
Anything that deals with maths...like acturial or accountant

Four pretend nicknames I’m making up for myself:

1. Super moo (Super Pig), if I did something great and when my wife knew about it.
2. Moo (pig), when I ate too much.
3. Cancer Man
4. One Kidney Man, a nick used at my office network chat.

Four movies I have watched over and over:
1. Forrest Gump, for its simplicity and hope.
2. Brave Heart, for its courage.
3. Green Mile, for its humanity.
4. ET, for something out of this world.

Four places I have lived:
1. Kuala Lumpur, place I born.
2. Bangkok, my wife country.
3. Jakarta, Indonesia, my project assignment for few years.
4. Singapore, my project assignment for few months.

Four things I love to do on my weekends:
Quite similar to Selba….
1. Surfing around the bits and bytes of Internet.
2. Walking and laze around in shopping complex.
3. Reading newspaper.
4. Eating.

Four TV shows I geek out to, or used to geek out to:
1. Iron Chef, for its cooking challenge.
2. Mr Bean, for its weirdness and craziness.
3. Malcom in the middle, for its family humour.
4. Cheers, for its comedy.

Four alcoholic beverages I’ve enjoyed on offshore vacations :
Those who knows me will definitely be shouting, Soo, alchohol? I am known as the “one sip sleep”, which means one sip and will go to sleep. However I have drank before, below is my list.

1. Corona Beer, I took this when I went to RCA, a place in Bangkok famous for pubs. My Manager coaxes me into it. And I drank straight from the bottle and with a slice of lime inside it. According to him, the lime will absorb the alcohol hence I will get less intoxicated.
2. Kahlua, the coffee flavour liqueur.
3. Shandy, no this is not a joke, this drink causes me headache….
4. A brandy, not sure what name is it and I was taught to eat cheese along it. I have a sip of it to taste what it likes to have brandy with cheese.

Four things I could NOT live without (besides oxygen, H20, and miscellaneous life-sustaining substances):
1. Human “networking” like phone, email, internet and etc.
2. Radio
3. Cars
4. DVD related hardware like player, disc….

Four of my favorite foods, partnered with people with whom I enjoy eating said foods:
1. Steam Cod Fish for it unique taste.
2. Fried Mee Hon, my one and only vice food.
3. Stir Fried Vegetables, for its fibre.
4. A steam boat meal, when I am in Bangkok.

Four places I would rather be right now:
1. At home with my family, enjoying each other company.
2. Bangkok, in my house with my family.
3. KLCC, for its great shopping variety.
4. Low Yat, for its high tech gadgetry.

Four people I mercilessly tagged
Aiyah those I “casually” know has already done this, so maybe to those I know a lot, ...... Ronaldo, Beckham, Crespo and Ronaldiho. I know you guys are free, after all your team is out of the world cup…..
